Man O’Words and Man O’Sword each picked up a Gold medal at this year’s Women’s Wine and Spirit Awards in London.
The competition is judged by 100 of the most influential female wine and spirits buyers, and recognises the importance of female drinkers to the category.
Brand Manager Vicki Hamilton is delighted. ‘Reversing the perception that whisky is a man’s drink is really important to me and the team here at Annandale,’ she says, ‘and introducing our whisky to influential female buyers is an important step in that process. We’re thrilled with their response.’
Man O’Words – named for local exciseman, ploughman and poet Robert Burns – also picked up an enviable 89.5 points in the latest Whisky Bible from Jim Murray, while peated Man O’Sword – named for 7th Earl of Annandale, King Robert the Bruce – picked up 92 points.
